Karate4Kidz in Toronto - Our Mission
“Your Child Can Learn to Overcome The Obstacles
of Youth While Growing Up to Become
a Leader; Not a Follower…”
In today’s world children are face numerous challenges…
- Childhood Obesity
- Not Enough Exercise
- Getting Bullied and Not Knowing What to Do
- Anti-Social Behavior Which Leads to Low Self-Esteem
Often times our children lack sufficient positive role models in and outside of school. This leaves the door wide open for influences that may not be compatible with the views and values you hold dear or want to pass on to your kids.
It doesn’t have to be this way! There is a solution to keeping your child “on track” and giving him/her the skills needed to succeed in today’s world…
Here's Our Secret...
Personal Character Development
![]() |
Personal Character Development is a program that was developed to help parents and teachers build character and exemplary personal conduct in children. The program is designed by Martial Arts Instructors who are passionate about developing leaders. KickSMART training is provided by certified Black Belt trainers that understand how to teach children.
Our program will interest children, educate children, and help shape their future. Students are required to complete personal character development building lessons and demonstrate exemplary personal conduct in and out of their martial arts schools.
Students are required to complete theme-based character and personal conduct tracking forms. These tracking forms are child friendly and decorated with animated martial arts heroes. Studies show that children show more interest when animated characters are used. The animated heroes create the motivation to succeed. Each hero has a positive personality and super powers that ignite enthusiasm.
As important as these skills are, the Personal Development or "LIFE SKILLS, of each student is what drives our program. We have structured our children's program to incorporate motivational themes such as Achievement Awards, "Message of the Week" such as Respect, Discipline, Willingness To Learn, Focus, Generosity, Self-Confidence, Attitude Towards Friends, Starting Something New, Self Control, Getting Along With Siblings, Performance Of Tasks, Handling School & Home Property. Every student is treated as a Champion.
We take a Montessori style approach to teaching
We know that every student has different abilities and challenges, and we also appreciate the fact children take martial arts for different reasons. So, we do not follow a "traditional" hard and strict style of teaching, but rather a softer, gentler and more encouraging approach and treat every child as a unique individual.
